Roger Williams

Roger Williams is Vice President at Blue Source and runs the company’s San Francisco office. He also leads the origination and development of forestry and agricultural carbon sequestration projects for the company. Over the last year, Roger led the development of the first Avoided Conversion project outside California listed on the Climate Action Reserve, and spearheaded project development partnerships with The Nature Conservancy and J.R. Simplot Company. Roger’s areas of expertise include terrestrial carbon project development, environmental market design and implementation, and carbon finance. Roger also serves as Chairman of the Carbon Offset Providers Coalition. Prior to joining Blue Source, Roger held management and business development positions at WorldWater & Power Corp., Kirell Energy Systems, ICLEI’s Cities for Climate Protection Campaign and Cantor CO2e. Roger has extensive experience in international sustainable development and is fluent in Spanish having served as an Agroforestry Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala from 1993-96. Roger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Duke University and a Masters Degree from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
